Keep it fresh.

To us keeping it fresh just isn’t a statement it’s a life moto. A motto that we feel so strongly about that we figured we should share our ideas and inspirations with you. Through our system of ideas we can assist with refreshing, rejuvenating, and restoring your employees’ wellbeing and overall health.

Engage:

We suggest that you choose at least three challenges or campaigns per quarter. Make sure there’s something for everyone who wants to participate and engage with Shantiswag. We have plenty of ideas and products for a well-balanced and happy life.

Local Pride. Your employees choose to work at your company for a reason, so serve up the culture they know and love. Keep activities fresh, fun, and relevant to your company. Consider a promotion that builds teamwork. This can be anything from attending a local farmers market to local artists art showings.

Fresh idea: Start an Incentive Rewards Program centered around healthy eating

Nutrition,

Exercise,

Weight Management,

 Stress Reduction

Each of these factors has a huge effect on your employees’ day to day interaction.

We suggest that you start and end the promotion within one quarter.  This way it’s easier to track and keep employees motived. If the promotion last too long the employee may grow bored with the program.

Let’s focus on Nutrition

Did I say Fresh? Nothing says Fresh like buy locally gown fruit and veggies from a local farmers market. Fresh, organic, and yummy! This is something that both of our families do on a weekly basis.  It’s amazing to get to see where our foods are coming from. Farmers markets are a great way to see touch and taste new and exciting vegetables and fruits grown in your area. The Markets have a very cool vibe.  Enjoy the many fun new foods to taste; great music and most markets are dog friendly.  You will always meet very nice friends and neighbors.
We love the social atmosphere, the hustle and bustle of the market.

Ideas:  Team up with a local farmer who sells his products at a market close to your office.  Every time the employee stops by this specific vendor he-she can earn extra points.

Invite chefs into the workplace.  Pick one day of the week and invite a chef into the office. You could also have employees sign up to learn how to cook their favorite items. This would also work with a “potluck style” day with all the employees bringing the recipes. At the end of the class put all of the recipes from the quarter on a flash drive as an ending gift.

Each week can be Different categories for the class, i.e.:  All centering around new and different vegetables.

Super Foods

A nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being: Chef Benjamin touts broccoli sprouts and salmon as two of the most perfect superfoods.

Brain Foods

Are you regularly called smarty-pants by your friends and coworkers? Well it has less to do with your pants and much more to do with what you put into your mouth.  Add these 'superfoods' to your daily diet and you will increase your odds of maintaining a healthy brain for the rest of your life.

Spinach, broccoli, eggs, walnuts, yerba mate tea, beets, oats, blueberries, wild salmon, avocado, legumes just to name a few. All organic are at Farmers Markets.

Smoothies

The best part of the farmers markets is that you can savor the flavor of seasonal vegetables. This gives you the best opportunity to try new veggies that you may have never tried. It is a great family outing that benefits everyone.

HAVE WE MENTIONED THAT WE LOVE TURMERIC?

If you are looking for a tasty, versatile, and healthy way to kickstart your week, consider turmeric! It's so much more than a vibrant-colored spice. It aids anti-inflammatory efforts and can even help keep those sniffles at bay!

If you're looking for a natural way to battle many of life's ailments, I highly recommend reading up on the benefits of turmeric.

Provide an an app (farmstandapp) for the employees’ phones so they can find places close to their area that serve local produce. Use twitter or instagram to have employees post eating fruits and vegetables from a farmers market.  Share recipes; show eating at a local restaurant that serves local produce and meats. At the end of the promotion use all the recipes and pictures from the postings for an Employee Wellness Calendar.

Create a Calendar Contest for all employees.

Pick some of the best pictures to add to calendar and make it look like a collage. The front cover of the Calendar could be the plate artwork.  .    The plate should be a conversation starter so the art should be funky.  Use a local artist to design or start a contest for the employees to design; Pick four photos whose winners get extra points Have the employees bring the dinner plate to a restaurant or farmers market and have it signed by the chef.

Instagram contest:

Employees use a special hashtag on their photos. At the end of the week pick 2 different winners. The more you post the better chances you have to win a new plate. Our suggestion would be to create a large plate, small plate, bowl and mug or a set of 4 plates with the art being different on all the pieces.

The local farmers market vendor can sign his-her bag. Add a logoed sharpie. http://www.sanfordb2b.com/US/Pages/Product.aspx?product=FPM
